Menswear and womenswear collections on one platform
More and more brands today are working with unisex collections or combining menswear and womenswear within one recognizable style. That is why SHIFT now brings them together on a single platform.
For retailers, this means they can view both menswear and womenswear collections that match in style and target audience during one visit. This makes buying more clear and efficient: one moment, one place, and a well-defined offering.
This also offers advantages for brands. They can present both their menswear and womenswear collections at one event, without having to travel to multiple events or trade fairs on different weekends.
Creating movement in the market
SHIFT sees it as its role to bring brands and retailers together at the right moment. Through a clear selection of brands and a targeted group of visitors, more dynamism is created at the event.
The goal is to stimulate collaboration, foster new connections, and thereby create movement in the market. This contributes to a positive sentiment within the industry and ultimately to growth for both brands and retailers.
Curated as a foundation
The Curated group will once again form the foundation of the brand offering during this edition. In collaboration with various agencies, care is taken to ensure that the brands participating in SHIFT fit well together and that the platform maintains a clear direction.
Location of the summer edition and selective participation
The summer edition will take place at Taets Art and Event Park in Zaandam. The original location was already booked for this period, which is why a temporary return to Taets was chosen, where previous editions have been successfully held.
SHIFT is choosing to be more selective in admitting brands. The platform explicitly focuses on a high-quality and carefully curated offering, where the participating brands align well in terms of content and match the right target audience for the event. In this way, SHIFT remains a compact and clear platform where quality, positioning, and relevance are central.
Collaboration with Modefabriek
In addition, SHIFT will collaborate closely with Modefabriek. Both platforms will remain two separate entities, each with its own positioning and target audience. Through this cooperation, there can be better alignment in terms of brand offering and visitors, while consciously ensuring that the same brands are not presented on both platforms. In this way, both events retain their own identity while strengthening each other within the ecosystem.
“This expansion fits perfectly with how we want to further develop SHIFT in the coming years,” says Rick van Rijthoven, founder of SHIFT. “Step by step, we are continuing to build the platform for a clearly defined group of retailers and brands. On the one hand, we focus on younger or emerging labels with a strong, distinctive identity, and on the other hand on brands that transcend generations and remain relevant to new target audiences for many years.
By continuously collecting more data and insights through Hyperscout within our ecosystem, we gain a better understanding of which brands and retailers truly match. This allows us to make matchmaking at the event increasingly targeted and efficient. It is great to see how much value this creates for both the brands and the retailers who visit SHIFT.”
With this fourth edition, SHIFT takes the next step in the further development of the platform, with a clear focus: a strong and well-structured event where retailers and brands genuinely help each other move forward.
